Experience
Throughout my studies, I have come to learn that even the most complex problems can be broken down into small digestible pieces. I try and bring this knowledge with me to my students. I have over seven years of tutoring experience, specializing in college preparation, along with disciplines in the sciences. I have worked with students of all ages - middle school, high school, and college. Often there is a disconnect between the teacher and the student, which severely impedes learning and comprehension. As a tutor, it is my job to bridge this gap through understanding the unique learning style of each individual student. I also firmly believe that there is not enough emphasis on understanding material - students are often required to memorize information without a fundamental understanding of what they are memorizing, which can be detrimental in analytical subjects such as math, chemistry, and physics. I understand how difficult these subjects may be to students and take a very fluid and personalized approach to teach each student. I believe each student learns most effectively in different ways; I work to optimize each students learning by using methods and a schedule they are comfortable with. Every person is different and unique in their own way--that should be celebrated, even when learning
